Ronaldo in 10m payoff to mum of his baby. =O

SOCCER ace CRISTIANO RONALDO paid the mother of his baby a staggering £10million to buy her silence, pals claimed last night.

The former Manchester United winger described it as "the most expensive day of my life".

But the Portuguese star believes it is worth the equivalent of one year's earnings to keep the mystery woman's identity a secret for ever.

Even his new son will not know the identity of his mother until he is old enough to understand.

A source described the mum as "a party girl" and not someone Ronaldo would "settle down" with.

Rumours

But rumours are rife she is an American surrogate mum - and the pregnancy was deliberate.

Ronaldo, 25, is said to have transferred £10million to her on Monday in return for her giving up any rights to see the child and swearing her to total secrecy.

The source said: "He paid nearly a year's wages but it's more than worth it. He's called it the most expensive day of his life, but at least he has sole custody."

Ronaldo is thought to have earned a staggering £183,000 a week - £9.5million in total - after joining Real Madrid from United last summer for £80million.

It is understood the 9lb 8oz boy - born on June 17 - is staying with Ronaldo's family in Portugal's Algarve.

He wants his mum Dolores and sister to help raise his son.

Ronaldo has dismissed rumours that his lingerie model girlfriend IRINA SHAYK, 24, is upset over the child.

They lunched happily together with a friend in New York this week.
